I was thrilled to present a live virtual workshop to Indonesian educators at their Annual Conference on Friday morning, October 7. Amazingly, it was still Thursday night, October 6 in Chicago when I gave my presentation.

My session was titled “Coding, Robotics, and Engineering with Young Children:

Powerful Opportunities for Problem Solving and Collaborative Decision Making”.

We talked about how play and problem solving empower young children to become future-ready citizens. I shared my favorite coding, robotics, and engineering teaching strategies that sharpen children’s problem-solving and decision-making skills using both hi-tech devices and ordinary open-ended materials. And we looked at how beautifully problem-solving strategies fit into HighScope daily classroom routines and the plan-do-review cycle.

Thank you, HighScope Indonesia for a wonderful experience.
